Our Midwives

Professional Background

Sofia is a proud Hamiltonian and she is excited to work in her local community. Sofia graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University in 2019. Before entering midwifery, Sofia earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University. She spent 6 years working in mental health research. During this time, Sofia had the opportunity to work with local organizations to decrease barriers to accessing services.

Commitment to Midwifery Practice

Sofia aims to make a meaningful and positive impact by promoting informed choice, respectful care and supporting clients throughout their journey. Sofia is a strong advocate for using research to help clients make the best decision for their families. She has worked with the Association of Ontario Midwives to develop guidelines to promote informed decision making. Sofia is multilingual and speaks Arabic and Bulgarian.

Off Call Time

Like a true Hamiltonian, Sofia loves to hike and catch waterfalls (not just babies!).
