Professional Background
Emily holds a BA in Anthropology (McMaster University, 2011) and a BHSc in Midwifery (McMaster University, 2005). In addition to providing services at CMOH, Emily works as part of a team of midwives and doctors in the Shelter Health Network, providing maternity care to women who access the shelter system in the Hamilton area.
Commitment to Midwifery Practice
In addition to her work as a Registered Midwife, Emily is an Assistant Clinical Professor (adjunct) in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University, teaching as a clinical preceptor to students in our clinic. Emily believes in midwifery care that is as flexible and unique as the people we serve. She feels strongly about being able to provide care in a variety of settings and being flexible about how that care is provided to each client.
Off Call Time
When Emily isn’t working, she is often baking a cake or gardening. She also enjoys going for long runs and is a league member with the Hammer City Roller Derby.
